Original flash pieces for tattooing. These I now see as an extension of my arts practice. I enjoy the subversion and change of context from the often limiting fine art world, to a more tangible living canvas. there are many stories about why the sheets of tattoo designs are named “flash” - there’s one about the illicit days of tattooing and some circus person quickly flashing tattoo designs to customers in between avoiding the cops. though it is a fun idea , it is widely believed it probably has something to do with the meaning of the word flash. Tattoo artists create sheets of “flashy” designs and post them up on their walls to drive customers in.

Digital paintings serve as a versatile medium for instant creation anywhere, anytime. Most of my pieces are inspired by feminist, queer, and sexual imagery across all mediums, but because of the instant nature of digital creation, the numbers tend to skew to more digital pieces rather than analog.

My paintings are a reflective exploration of queer identities. Transitioning from a conventional approach of exclusively working with oils and acrylics, my artistry expanded during my time in art school to encompass the realm of sculpture within my fine art practice. Later I began working professionally on digital mediums as a way of making my creative process more streamlined.

I use collage as a means to explore the creative process with less pressure. By piecing together existing images, I can focus on the arrangement and composition rather than the creation of new imagery. This approach allows for a more playful and intuitive method of creation, where each element acts as a puzzle piece in the larger composition.
